I figure it is about time I write another post! I just read a post on my brother's blog about Super Tuesday. I am actually really excited to vote.
About a week or so ago I was talking to my brother, Kyle, about politics and how to find information to help me know who I want to vote for. So, I went to a few websites he recommended and took the "tests." These different tests showed how my concerns/views align with the different candidates. I then proceeded to talk to Kyle about what the test results told me. He told me to not base my vote purely on those results. In my head I was thinking, "Wow, this is a lot of work just to make an educated vote." Kyle and I continued to talk. He told me to watch the debates, take the online "tests" and visit the candidate’s websites to make an educated vote. I went to bed sort of frustrated that everything online is so biased one way or another. I just want there to be a place that shows what each candidate wants/stands for.
Well, I continued to think about politics, voting, the different candidates, etc. the next few days. I went home from work one day and decided I was going to do more research online about the different candidates. Well, I turned on the television and the democratic debate was just starting. I decided I would watch and listen carefully. The first few topics they discussed are the issues that are most important to me. AND, I actually felt like they answered the questions. It was a good night. I felt a lot less frustrated than I did a few days prior.
The next day, I continued to think about the debate and the candidates. Even though, I had felt some frustration, I realized how lucky I am to have the opportunity to vote. I had an ah-ha moment. I have the opportunity to have a say in how the country is governed. Many other people in the world don't have that. It is an opportunity and a privilege that I can vote!
Well, there is my Super Tuesday story. I am excited to vote tomorrow because I feel like I have put some time and energy into it. I am excited to be an active part of our democracy! It really is a cool opportunity...

I'm glad you've found the experience to be a good one. At JSA at my school its exactly your attitude that we try to foster. As such, I think I should inform you of the Danegeld blog, where my friends and I post on many topics, but often politics.
